The city of Delft in Holland is renowned for its Delft Blue, hugely popular between 1600 and 1800 AD.  It got its inspiration from Chinese porcelain, which was highly revered, and copied by Dutch potters who started making Delft Blue pieces (with clay coated with a tin glaze after it was fired).

This tile is from the mid-18th century (made between 1735 and 1755) and measures 5"x5".  Use it as a focal point on your kitchen backsplash or with some of its siblings (there are only 11 available).  This is a rare piece, sought after by collectors.
